Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 for Sotheby’s Auction

Panerai is launching a special edition of the Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 to celebrate its first stand-alone boutique in the UK. The one-off example will go to auction exclusively via the Sotheby’s website, with all proceeds being donated to the Royal Yachting Association in support of its charitable sailing programme OnBoard.

The Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo with its 47 mm case is inspired by Panerai’s historic creations for the Royal Italian Navy and features a bronze case with a brown dial. While the bronze material is highly resistant to corrosion, over time it naturally reacts to the environment gives it an interesting aged look. The patina has no effect on the workings of the piece but offers a natural “worn” look, future accentuated when paired with its brown leather strap.

The bidding period is from November 30th to December 15th and the watch can be viewed inside the new London store on New Bond Street from now until the auction ends. A number of bespoke Panerai experiences will also be up for auction, more information will be revealed shortly on the Sotheby’s website.
