Electrified Gymkhana
Ken Block's Audi S1 e-Tron Quattro 'Hoonitron'

Smoke artist Ken Block and the Hoonigan team have been producing their action-packed Gymkhana films since the original video aired back in 2006. The latest instalment, however, marks the first time the American rally driver has used an electric vehicle.

The one-of-a-kind Audi S1 e-Tron Quattro ‘Hoonitron’ was developed and assembled by the German automaker exclusively for Ken Block, taking design cues from the iconic 1987 Audi Sport Quattro S1 Pikes Peak car. The all-electric prototype features two electric motors, an all-wheel drive system, huge amounts of instant torque, a carbon fibre chassis, and FIA-compliant safety systems.

The cinematic Electrikhana video was shot in Las Vegas after dark, with Block sliding his way through various iconic Vegas locations. While the usual guttural roar of a combustion engine is replaced by the high-pitched whine of the electric motors, the mesmerising neon lights illuminating the empty city give the video a futuristic ambience that suits the new car perfectly.
