Jaguar I-PACE Concept

Developing electric cars seems to be on most major automakers’ radar these days, with another key player joining the club. Jaguar just unveiled an all-electric concept for a five-seater sports car, the I-PACE. While the I-PACE is described as a concept, Jaguar has already been quite forthcoming with information and even suggested the new model will be available in the second half of 2018.

The design of the crossover concept stays true to the Jaguar brand, sporting features like the aerodynamic bonnet for maximising range. Powered by a lithium ion battery with a capacity of 90 kWh, the I-Pace Concept has an estimated range of over 500 km on a single charge and can achieve an 80% charge in 90 minutes with a special rapid charging system. The two electric motors together produce 394 hp and complete the 0-100 km/h dash in around four seconds. There is still some time left before the concept’s delivery in 2018; it will be interesting to see if the production version can fulfil all its promises made by the I-PACE concept.
