It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Gone in 60 Seconds roared onto cinema screens in 2000. While Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie led the cast, the true breakout star was Eleanor, the silver-and-black 1967 Ford Mustang that became one of the most iconic cars in movie history.
To mark the silver anniversary, the original creators of the film’s Eleanor cars are reuniting to launch the Eleanor: Gone Again project, a limited run of just 25 hand-built Anniversary Edition cars. Spearheaded by Randy Wolff of Cinema Muscle Recreations and Ray Claridge, founder of Cinema Vehicle Services, the firm responsible for the original 11 Eleanors, this revival aims to blend authentic homage with discreet modern refinement.
Each Anniversary Edition will be a bespoke, individually specified build, preserving Eleanor’s unmistakable silhouette while incorporating subtle upgrades in technology, performance, and comfort. From the aggressive bodywork to the signature racing stripes, every detail is meticulously recreated. Starting with an original 1967 Mustang donor car, each vehicle is restored to concours standards before being transformed using components true to the original film builds. These include Total Control Products suspension, Wilwood brakes, and bodywork inspired by Steve Stanford’s now-legendary design. Buyers can also opt for performance enhancements and personalised interior upgrades, such as custom leather upholstery.
Production of the Eleanor 25th Anniversary Edition is already underway, with pricing starting at US$500,000.
