DxO One
A Plug-in iPhone Camera.

iPhone photography continues to be popular, and in addition to the constant improvements on the camera feature itself, different related products have also been emerging, examples being the Sony QX lens camera and the Olympus Air phone lens adapter, which were both recently released and have both earned great attention from users in the market. The latest review though, is about DxO Lab, the company which was made famous by its photographic equipment and production system software. Their latest release “ExO One” is an iPhone external camera which transforms the iPhone screen into a viewfinder and claims to shoot quality images comparable to any DSLR.

Using a 1-inch 20.2 megapixel back-illuminated focus and a CMOS image sensor, its ISO goes up to 51, 200 degrees with a 32mm fixed focus lens, and offers a maximum aperture at f/1.8 magnitude. Its size is around the size of our palms and weighs only 108g, making it a very convenient gadget to have. The camera body is preset with two-stage shutter and supports Micro-SD memory cards. Powered by a lithium battery, it can shoot up to 200 photos in one go. Another major selling point of the DxO One is its embedded Lightning interface which allows it to be easily connected with the iPhone, transforming it effortlessly into your personal viewfinder. Users can view images on their phone and also control the camera parameters with it. The factory has also especially created a swivel design for the connection so that it can easily capture at all different angles. DxO One provides both automatic and PASM shooting modes and supports JPG, DNG, and their exclusive ExO Super RAW format. Last but not least, it comes with an electronic anti-shake function which can shoot 30fps 1080p spec videos. The camera is expected to be available in September this year, with the official website already accepting preorders.
