The new Donkervoort D8 GTO-RS is a total redesign of their definitive street-legal racer aimed at substantially improving acceleration and handling. Based on its famed predecessor, this latest version is visually wider and larger yet lighter, thanks to the use of a new carbon fibre tunnel section.

Donkervoort collaborated with Bosch to install Audi’s turbocharged 2.5L R5 TFSI engine and management controls, with EU6 emission compliance, as well as a launch control, a re-calibrated braking system, and a new suspension featuring a much wider track to increase front grip. With the addition of improved aerodynamics and the new leather and carbon fiber trimmed interior, this Lotus Seven lookalike now offers the comfort and convenience of a modern touring car. Interested fans have to react quickly, however. Forty units of the D8 GTO-RS were planned to be available this summer starting at 151,173 Euros excluding taxes, but only 19 units remain after the pre-sale stage.
