Leica TL

When the Leica T hit the market two years ago, its unibody design cut from a solid block of aluminium redefined the structure and composition of APS-C mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses. The new Leica TL is more of an upgraded version of the T, rather than a completely-new model, featuring new titanium coloured options and minor tweaks such as the improved autofocus with faster and more precise focusing.

With the same design, size, weight and even button layout as the Leica T, the only real aesthetic difference for the new model is the ‘TL’ logo at the top. The camera has an APS-C sensor with 16.5 megapixel, an ISO range of up to 12,500 and supports HD 1080p video recording. There is a 3.7-inch touchscreen panel at the back of the Leica TL and its input method is very similar to a smartphone’s, meaning the user doesn’t need to spend much time in learning how to master the functions available. The aluminium chassis might look intimidating but it only weighs 94 grams and is compatible with Leica’s legendary M and R system lenses, with the use of separately sold adapters. Lastly, the new LT has double the in-built storage capacity than the previous model, with 32 GB, meaning that there is more than enough space for a complete shoot without the need for a memory card.
