When Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot announced its collaboration with Parisian shoemaker Berluti at Baselworld 2016, many thought it would be just a watch fitted with a Berluti leather strap, but the result is much more than that. Hublot decided the Classic Fusion Berluti would have a dial made of the shoemaker’s signature patinated leather. It was one of the biggest challenges for Hublot, as it is not easy for leather to continue looking its shiny best in a sealed case. Hublot had to look for innovative materials and technology to ensure the leather remains supple and water resistant.

The Hublot presents the Classic Fusion Berluti in two colors in limited numbers. For the “Scritto” version, the straps are carved with the Berluti Scritto signature and a tobacco colored leather dial which strikes the perfect balance with the warm nuances of Hublot’s King Gold. The “All-Black” edition features both a handmade Venezia Nero-Grigio leather strap and leather dial in a 45mm black ceramic case. Both of these watches are fitted with Hublot’s HUB 1100 mechanical self-winding movement which features a power reserve of 42 hours. The “Scritto” is limited to 250 pieces while the “All-Black” edition is limited to 500 pieces worldwide.
