Since its foundation in 1994, Bell & Ross has been a leading watchmaker, often found on the wrists of special forces and national armies. It has more recently explored the world of Formula 1 with an official partnership with the Renault F1 team. As the racing team launches its new car, the Renault R.S.17 , Bell & Ross has also announced a racing driver’s timepiece under the same name.
Renault was the first F1 team to release its new race car for the coming season, and Bell & Ross was ready, previewing the new BR03-94 RS17 at the same time, which uses the same materials as found in the F1 race car. For example, the case is made of ceramic, and the dial carbon fibre, while the chronograph features yellow anodised aluminium, an iconic colour borrowed from Renault R.S.17.
The 42 mm diameter watch features a calibre BR-CAL.301 automatic mechanical movement. The central chronograph second hand and the 30-minute timer at 9 o’clock both use the R.S.17 racing car’s yellow shade, same for the tachymeter scale on the flange and the Start & Stop push button. With speed measurement of up to 400 km/h the watch is a great companion for extreme motorsport.
