Ferrari 488 Pista Spider launches in Hong Kong and Macau

Ferrari 488 Pista Spider has unveiled in the Hong Kong and Macau markets yesterday evening.

The launch event was held by local dealer Blackbird Concessionaires at Morpheus, City of Dream in Macau. Together we celebrated the arrival of the 50th Ferrari open-top model. The remarkable 488 Pista Spider will remain on display at Morpheus in Macau until 27 January.

The 488 Pista Spider delivers all of the exhilaration of the 488 Pista and is benefited from the technological transfer from the marque’s racing programmes, including experiences claimed from winning five Manufacturers’ titles in the GTE class and 25 years’ experience in running the Ferrari Challenge one-make series. These experiences results in the new variant’s race-inspired performance and driving characteristics on road and track.

Fitted with most powerful V8 engine from the Prancing Horse, which delivers 720 cv with the highest specific output of its class (185 cv/l), the 488 Pista Spider is capable of completing the 0-100 km/h sprint in 2.85 seconds. The engine sound is equally appealing, more intense than previous models and rise in proportion with increasing power and engine speed. Yet, car’s dynamics were designed to enhance driving pleasure for drivers of all skill levels as the objective is to make the car’s limit easier to reach, control and enjoy.

The arrival of 488 Pista Spider coincides with the Asian premiere of the ‘Ferrari: Under the Skin’ exhibition. After successfully showing at Museo Ferrari in Maranello and London’s Design Museum, the exhibition now takes place at City of Dreams, bringing over 10 significant cars and 100 original artefacts from the marque’s history, many of them are first time in Asia.

‘Ferrari: Under the Skin’ sets to showcase the evolution in design and innovation through its over 70 years of history, while at the same time paying tribute for founder Enzo Ferrari’s 120th anniversary. The exhibition is divided into six distinct zones, displaying everything from original hand-drawn sketches and to mechanical parts for illustrating Ferrari’s engineering techniques and design. Among the highlights there are an exact replica of the first Ferrari ever made in 1947, the 2000 Formula 1 championship-winning car driven by Michael Schumacher, as well as a selection of classic Ferrari models such as F40, 288 GTO and 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The exhibition runs through 16 June, 2019.
