Ken Block’s Climbkhana: Pikes Peak

After more than 11 months in the creation, Ken Block’s latest crazy drifting video Climbkhana: Pikes Peak has finally launched on Toyo Tires’ YouTube channel. An evolution of his Gymkhana series, Block takes his 1,400 hp, twin turbo 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR V2 to probably the most dangerous mountain road in America; the legendary Pikes Peak hill climb.

Block himself admitted that the beefed up Mustang, which outputted 845 hp in Gymkhana 7, was almost uncontrollable and he needed to relearned how to handle the new ‘Hoonicorn V2’ before going to Pikes Peak, with plenty of testing.

There are quite a few terrifying moments in the nine-minute video; Block doesn’t go easy despite the reputation of the road. In the midst of smoke pouring off all four tyres he drifts along the edge of the mountain road without any form of barrier. At one point he clips so near to the edge that the tail of his Mustang almost hangs off the edge of the cliff.

Enjoy one of the best and most exciting automotive videos ever made.
