McLaren has a lot of interesting and aggressive designs, but none can compare to the concept developed by transportation and automobile design student Ravi Sharma.

The McLaren Motorsport Spirit is a single seat race car for the future. Using “Bionic Serenity” as the theme, the concept looks to cyborgs for inspiration. Some of the elements are taken quite organically, like the exterior lighting, which is inspired by tendons, for example. The overall appearance is extremely fluid and stresses aerodynamics, with prominent aero components both front and rear.

Sharma has imagined quite a few of advanced features that are perhaps worthy of further R&D. Each wheel incorporates an electric motor with spiral coils, while the rear of the car has a solid nitrogen tank that can counter superconductivity by lowering the temperature to -197 degrees Celsius. Judging by this concept, Sharma shouldn’t face any problems finding a job in the industry once he graduates.
