Countach Re-imagined
The Bellezza by Haste

Haste, the multidisciplinary design studio known for its boundary-pushing work in automotive culture, has unveiled its latest digital concept: the Bellezza, a modern reimagining of the legendary Lamborghini Countach. Founded in 2021 by longtime collaborators Carlos Pecino (aka ColorSponge) and artist–designer Ash Thorp, the Bellezza represents Thorp’s vision, blending reverence for a design icon with a desire to reinterpret it through a contemporary lens.

Rather than reinventing the Countach outright, the Bellezza explores why the original design remains so enduring. Thorp approached the project through reduction, stripping the silhouette back to the core elements that defined the car’s stance. He closely studied its lines, volumes, and geometric tension to isolate the Countach’s design DNA before introducing any new forms.

This philosophy guided the project throughout. The rear wing, side mirrors, and even the front wiper were removed to emphasise the wedge-shaped purity of the body. The side window line was reshaped to create a smoother transition into the rear, while signature motifs such as the NACA ducts and greenhouse proportions were retained to preserve its identity.

From there, the design evolved through countless iterations. The stance was sharpened by lifting the front overfender to meet the bonnet line, the rear bodywork was pared back to reveal more mechanical muscle, and a new side skirt visually grounds the car. The integrated aero-blade mirrors are among Thorp’s favourite details, adding modern aerodynamic intent without compromising the purity of the form.
