New York-based Snarkitecture is very good at blurring architecture and art while creating playful and fun installations. Recently they created “Loop” for fashion brand COS, placing a vast marble game containing 100,000 glass marbles and more than 400 metres of tracks in Seoul, Korea’s Gaza Art Centre. Designers wished to create a space where visitors could take a break or escape from everyday life, through the joy of playing games.

Upon entering the gallery space, a visitor hears the humming sound of a marble released on to one of the four blue tracks every 5 seconds, where it eventually drops into the pile of similar marbles in the next room. Visitors are encouraged to choose their marble and put it anywhere they like on the track and then merely observe. Sometimes, innocence provides us with a new perspective of thinking inspiring us to accomplish our goals when our minds are relieved of distractions.
