1966 Lola T70 MK2 Spyder

The legendary Lola T70 was first built in 1965 in the UK, and was immediately very successful. It won the Monterey Grand Prix that same year, and founder Eric Broadley decided to firth tweak the design, coming up with the Lola T70 MK2 Spyder. With only 33 examples built, the model was highly exclusive and was deemed the most successful of all T70s.

This particular example, chassis number SL71/35, was purchased new from Lola by Goodyear to be raced by A.J. Foyt in the first CanAm series in 1966. The car retired from racing and was sold the year after to Bob Bondurant. He later rented it out to Universal Studios for the film Winning, with Paul Newman being the leading actor. The vintage race car has been restored recently and is ready to enter into classic race meetings, including the Goodwood Revival among many others.
