There has been a lot of noise around the release of the upcoming Toyota Supra production car which was announced over two years ago. It seems like the releasing date of the 5th generation Supra has finally be settled, as Toyota Germany officially confirmed the production version will debut at Detroit Auto Show kicking off on 14 January 2019.

It is unclear why Toyota has selected Germany as the first market for launching the long awaited Supra, but customers in the country can now place their order online on the dedicated Supra page in German. Toyota is reserving the first 900 examples for major European sports car markets at first stage, production of these 900 cars will commence next year and delivery can be expected after the summer. 

The sports car will feature a front-mounted, 3.0 litre straight six-cylinder engine over 300 hp with rear-wheel drive, active differential, perfect front-to-back weight distribution of 50:50, and a curb weight of just 3,298 pounds. The wait is soon over, finally.
