Classic Designs On Skateboards
Eames Office x Globe Eames Silhouette Decks

Charles and Ray Eames were among the most important American designers of the 20th century. From architecture to industrial and furniture design, and even photographic arts, they left a legacy well beyond the Eames Icons chairs they were most famous for. Now some of the duo’s classic pieces are being introduced to the new generation through the Eames Office x Globe skateboard deck collaboration.

The latest deck designs to come from the partnership are based on highly recognisable Eames pieces, featuring the “Solar Do-Nothing Machine” which pushes the positives of using renewable energy, “Plywood Sculpture” which features the pathway of their furniture design, and the functional “Hang-It-All” created for children to hang their belongings. Made of walnut wood and resin-7 Canadian maple, the decks are finished with white screen printed ink, while the silhouette of these classic pieces are knocked out to expose the beautiful walnut wood underneath. The top of the decks are laser-etched with the image of the specific design and the story behind it.

Lastly, a larger Globe’s signature Blazer 26-inch cruiser skateboard is adorned with colourful patterns found on the Eames Toy, and is crafted in rosewood and resin-7 hard rock maple.
