Petrolified is a car illustration company founded by artist, Martin Miskolci, in 2013. Their website opens with the quote “Your childhood car posters are back. Sleek, powerful, bold.” Specializing in illustrated classic car models from Italy, Germany, Britain and Japan, their wall-mountable posters come in three illustration categories, including monotone, custom, and the original multi-coloured version. My favourite style is the monochrome image of the Porsche 911, where its fresh colour paint has disappeared, replaced with a dramatic shade of black that not only makes the outline of the car more prominent, but also adds classic charm without compromising the car’s initial impression.
