Audio expert Klipsch and supercar stalwart McLaren have once again collaborated in order to launch a line of limited-edition audio equipment that reflect the race team’s iconic aesthetic. Unlike previous projects such that featured portable speakers and earbuds, the latest Legends Series capsule collection focuses on high-fidelity home audio solutions, with the MCL-905 performance loudspeaker being the hero product of the series.

The two-way MCL-905 is a professional cinema speaker available for home users for the first time. Featuring advanced Tractrix horn technology, the speaker is powered by a 3-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver and dual 15-inch K-45 fibre-composite cone woofers. Klipsch also throws in a newly-designed crossover, which is capable of delivering sensational audio reproduction and accurate coverage control.

Like all collaborations between Klipsch and McLaren, the race car constructor’s signature Papaya Orange hue plays a key part in the capsule’s aesthetics. The colour can be found on both the high-frequency horn and the custom vinyl wrap, with the latter featuring the signature of Bruce McLaren and his racing number 5. The support bracket of the speaker is specially designed for this project, using tail wings and spoilers of McLaren F1 cars as inspirations. Other details, including the metal grille and the real wood veneer, all add to the premium exterior. Only 25 pairs of MCL-905 will be available globally.
