Challenging Your Perceptions
David Spriggs

English born Artist David Spriggs has always been obsessed with working with 2 and 3 dimensions and exploring concepts such as space, time and movements that challenge our perceptions. He is good at using  technique that he pioneered; in  1999 he started layering multiple transparent images, creating large-scaled 3D installation art. Two of his work named ‘Vision’ and ‘Vision II’ has thoroughly demonstrated the possibilities in his work. When you look closely at it, you would be able to see an implosion at the same time an explosion, as if you are witnessing a form of becoming as well as destroying depending on your perception. When you take a look by its side you can clearly see how it is composed; a print that uses transparent sheets put together layer by layer. Would you view this from as a whole, or just separated image?
