The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest annual marathon and one of the six World Marathon Majors. Joining the run is viewed as one of the holy grails for many runners. Brooks has a tradition of launching a special edition celebrating the historic race each year and the 2019 version will hit the store later this month.
The special edition is based on the current Launch 6 running shoe which offers lightweight cushioning and rebounding rubber that is good for race day and durable for all the pre-race training. The one-piece mesh upper and internal bootie are supported by updated midsole with additional foam under the forefoot, and the Midfoot Transition Zone is specially designed for runners to go from heel to toe quickly.
The Boston T version has paired the performance features of Launch 6 with trademarks of Boston. Colourful lines of the city’s famous metro system — popularly known as the ‘T’ — are mapped around the heel, while the light grey pattern showcases the details of the system’s travel paths. It’s impossible to ignore the lobsters when mentioning everything Bostonian, and you can find them on the shoe’s tongue, heel and sockliner. Even the rope-like laces resemble the rope lying around the docks of Boston Harbour. Only 100 pairs will be available for the Hong Kong market.
