But First, Coffee
Anza expresso machine

Coffee has always played a big part in modern life, but its role seems to be getting more and more important recently. People can be extremely picky about their coffee orders and many have advanced to become artisanal home brewers. It seems the same passion doesn’t translate to picking the best looking espresso machine though, as most of them aren’t exactly the prettiest of items.

San Francisco design studio Montaag has created Anza, an espresso machine that is made of materials seldom used in home appliances. Two options are available for the sculpture-like machine after four years of testing and refinement. The first is made of concrete in a Brutalist style, with contrasting white ceramic parts. The Corian model is paired with wood accents as inspired by the kitchen table top.

Connectivity will be included on Anza for remote access, IoT integration and programming the machine to suit personal coffee habits. Anza will be available for pre-order on Kickstarter in August, with an expected delivery in early 2018.
