Blasting from the Screen
Sony BRAVIA OLED A1

Considering overall technical design, most televisions have terrible in-built sound and are therefore most often paired with a separate bulky hi-fi system on distracting sound bar. Sony’s latest BRAVIA OLED A1 series has taken advantage of OLED’s backlight-less structure to develop the new Acoustic Surface sound technology, which allows the sound to be emitted directly from the screen. To further enhance the sound there is a subwoofer speaker blasting out deep bass at the back. Sitting next to the subwoofer is the cable management system and both are well hidden inside the easel support. There are two innovative actuators at the back, vibrating the screen to create engaging sound. Different from the traditional LED TVs with speakers on the side or at the bottom of the screen, the A1 series unifies the image and sound, with dialogue appearing to come straight from the actors’ mouth and explosions coming directly from screen. The OLED screen is edged with a very narrow bezel, maximising the area of image and audio fusion.

The advanced OLED technology also offers a viewing experience with unprecedented black levels with the pixels supported by the 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme. The object-based HDR remaster technology can detect, analyse and optimise each object in the picture to adjust the overall contrast. The non-HDR content is enhanced to a picture quality close to 4K HDR,  with greater colour accuracy, contrast and clarity. It also supports HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision for viewing the growing catalogue of HDR content.

The A1 series is powered by Android TV and viewers can enjoy TV shows and timeless movies from Google Play, Netflix, Amazon Video and YouTube HDR. The series is available in 55, 65 and 77-inch.
