Big Enough For Its Purpose

New York based artist Bisco Smith is famous for his “visual freestyle” work, which blends graffiti deconstruction, gestural abstraction and lyric-based stylewriting for his distinctive style. He is the king of improvisation as he begins his painting with a piece of music and takes it to the canvas with dynamic, rhythmic brushstrokes, creating freestyle lyrics for express the energy of the moment. He work can be found as murals as well as in different format, with one of the latest one being the Ariel Nomad art car.

The off-road buggy doesn’t offer much as canvas with a tube frames and limited body panels, but Smith’s unique black and white style can be recognised from afar. The cool art car was displayed on Cars & Coffee at TIAA Bank Field in Florida, USA earlier this month. It is reported that it belongs to Instagram user mr.hotel_slippers and will be displayed in the Art Basel Miami later this year. Smith created a Mini for the same art fair in 2014.
