Honda Riding Assist-e concept

We introduced Honda’s self-balancing motorcycle concept that could also follow its owner autonomously back in January. Since then Honda has further refined its self-balancing technology and will debut the new Riding Assist-e concept at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show at the end of October. Honda developed its unique self-balancing technology in tandem with its humanoid robot research. With it, the Riding Assist-e concept automatically balances itself at very low speeds, helping beginning riders by increasing stability and make riding the bike much easier.

Once again using the Honda NC700 as its base, the Riding Assist-e is powered by an electric motor mounted just underneath the seat. Behind the motor is the rear-facing radiator, while the charging port is on the left side of the motorcycle. The Riding Assist-e powertrain specifications remain secret.

While the Riding Assist-e displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show will be just an exhibition model, all things point to the concept entering its final development stage then production.
