Beefed up for Pikes Peak
Acura NSV EV Concept

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) frequent visitor Acura will once again challenge the mountain with its latest NSX inspired all electric four-motor vehicle. The Acura EV Concept features the four-motor Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system and a separate Twin Motor Units on each axle, enabling four-wheel independent torque allocation and producing three times the power output of the previous Pike Peak Challenge Exhibition Class winner, the Honda CR-Z

Key player of the team Tetsuya Yamano will be piloting the zero emission EV. “We’ve been tuning the car for several weeks at Pikes and have advanced its performance significantly,” said Yamano. “We’re honoured to be running at Pikes in this historical, (100th) anniversary year – an event respected by racing fans all over the world.”

The course for the Race to the Clouds measures 19.99 km over 156 turns. Last year Yamano won the Challenge Exhibition class with the all-electric CR-Z at the time of 10:23.829. On 26th June we will see how this charged up, all electric NSX concept handles Pikes Peak’s legendary challenge.
