Lamborghini-restored 350 GT

The Lamborghini 350 GT plays an essential part in the Italian automaker’s history. The model was launched in 1964 as the first ever production car produced by Lamborghini. At Retromobile 2017 in Paris last week, Polo Storico, the in-house restoration division at Lamborghini, showcased a fully restored 350 GT, chassis number 0121, which was one of the first fifteen produced.

The team has undertaken extensive restoration work while maintaining the car’s originality, spending 1,150 hours on just the bodywork and interior alone, plus additional 780 hours on the mechanical and electrical side. Extra attention was given to the checking and reworking of the 3.5-litre 12-cylinder engine’s cooling system, as well as the braking system and the fuel system for ensured safety and authenticity. Only genuine original Lamborghini parts were used and the body was repainted using the original type of nitro-acrylic paint. The rims were restored by the original supplier Ruote Borrani of Milan, and the Pirelli Cinturato 205 R15 tyres on display are same as those used in the original version.
