Back On The Market Again
1952 Ferrari 212 Inter Coupe by Ghia

If this unique dual tone Ferrari 212 Inter rings a bell, that’s because it was auctioned through RM Sotheby’s Arizona sale earlier this year. Just a couple of months after the auction, this rare gem is on the market again.

The rare model has an interesting story too. After receiving special one-off coachwork from Ghia, the model was first shown at the 1952 Paris Auto Salon and attracted the attention of the President of Argentina, Juan Perón. To avoid attention and high taxes, the example was first sent to Rome, where the original chassis no. of 0233 EU was changed to a new identity – chassis 0191 EL, taken from another Ghia-bodied Ferrari. In 1973 the 212 Inter was bought by an Italian who lived in Buenos Aires. It was fully restored to original condition and received many awards, including the second place at the 2002 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

As seen in the photos, the example is in excellent condition inside and out. It was sold at the RM Sotheby’s auction for US$ 1,187,500 but now the asking price on Driver Source is US$ 1,595,000. Still, if you missed out last time, this could be a golden opportunity to rectify the situation.
