Wiesmann returns with new model

Wiesmann is coming back to the scene from its cease of operations due to insolvency in 2014. Founded in 1988, the Germany automaker was famous for building fast sports cars with classic design cues added to advanced mechanism. Now under the ownership of new investors, Wiesmann is planning to build a re-engineered model in the Dulmen factory in Germany. Like previous models, the new car will be powered by BMW-sourced engine and feature classic elements on the design.

“Wiesmann is the last thoroughbred European sports car built in Germany and I am very happy to play a part in creating its exciting future,” said the company’s Managing Director Roheen Berry in a statement.

Before the new model arrives, the pictured GTMF5 Coupe and MF4 Roadster from Wiesmann’s V8 powered Heritage Editions will be displayed at Salon Privé in Oxfordshire’s Blenheim Palace happening end of the month.
