NEVS inMotion concept

The world’s average commuting time is around 40 minutes one-way. How do you spend your daily journey? Do you drive, read a book, check your feeds on the phone or catch up on some much needed sleep? Whatever you do, the inMotion concept from NEVS will enable you to maximise your quality time during your commute.

Unveiled at CES Asia in Shanghai, the electric vehicle concept is shaped like a pod and has futuristic glass doors and covered wheels. Inside there is no steering wheel or pedals, as it is a Level 5 fully autonomous vehicle, which enables NEVS’ designers to focus on the flexible arrangements of the spacious cabin. There are three seating configurations; ‘Private’ allows individuals to seat facing the wall, ‘Social’ let passengers sit facing each other and in ‘Meeting’ mode all the seats are on one side with a screen on the other for formal discussions. Occupants can control or even pre-set their favourite seat arrangements, as well as lighting, ambience and environment through an app. We are still a few years away from seeing this vision become a reality but it seems having a physical meeting on the way to work is a strong possibility for the near future.
