Vintage Car Posters From Poster Auctions International

If you’re a big poster fan, you’ve probably heard of Poster Auctions International in the United States. They often host live eBay auctions featuring posters produced from the 1900s to the 1950s, and as the posters are real originals and not reprints, you can imagine some of the prices they sell for. Their live auction that just ended a few days ago included a wide range of posters, including a few brilliant automotive-related examples.

One particular poster was themed around the 1955 Monaco Grand Prix; with simple lines and strokes creating a strong sense of speed, you would agree that it is extraordinary detailed by looking at the Mercedes W196 and the tunnels drawn on the far side of the circuit. This was in fact the very first poster which showed the features of a driver at a Grand Prix with clarity, which has made it incredibly valuable.

Another remarkable poster was an advertisement for Voisin Automobiles produced in the year 1923. Instead of taking a brightly-coloured approach, or ambitiously filling up the space like most posters would, it has been designed in a minimalist way, with extensive use of empty space and a simple frame. This design of minimalism makes the brand Voisin and the drawing of the car even more eye-catching, in both a vintage and modern way. If you’re interested in posters like this, make sure to watch Poster Auctions International for more auctions in the future.
