Another Speed Challenger
Corbellati Missile claims to top out at 500kph

Corbellati is an unknown name in the automotive world. For 70 years the family has been involved in jewels and art, but now they are now taking their passion for sports cars to the business world.

Missile, as the name suggests, is aiming to break the fastest car record with a top speed of over 500 km/h. As a reference, the maximum speed of the Koenigsegg Agera RS is 447.2 km/h and the Hennessey Venom F5, currently under development, claims to peak at 484 km/h. The rendering images of the Missile have been floating around for quite some time, but the car’s specifications have just been revealed. Measured at 4.67 metres long and 2.04 metres wide, the Missile will be powered by a 9.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 1,800 hp and 2,350 Nm.

Cynicism is to be expected. For example, will the Corbellati family build the engine themselves? If not, where will they acquire it from? After all, the first models of many successful hypercar manufacturers was not record-breakingly fast. Automakers usually just push the boundaries model after model with experience. The guessing game won’t last long though, as Corbellati aims to debut the Missile at the Geneva Auto Show in March.
