Following their collaboration at Pitti Uomo last year, Converse has teamed up with British designer Jonathan Anderson once again for another collection, dubbed Simply_Complex. This time around, the duo takes an enthusiastic approach to two classic Converse silhouettes – the Thunderbolt and Chuck 70 – fusing raw indigo denim and suede to create new iterations for the warmer months. The collection showcases Anderson’s provoking designs and dials in on the way a shoe evolves through time and in street fashion.
“We approached it as a sneaker first but introduced detailed elements and the suede execution that make it a sort of curious version of Chuck, ultimately constructing the silhouette as a statement shoe,” Anderson says of his latest interpretation of the Chuck 70. “For me, they are perfect with chinos, jeans and a white T-shirt.”
Look for the collection at select Converse and JW Anderson stores on March 2.
