An Unexpected Crossover
McLaren modified one-off Dodge Viper

While the Dodge Viper has been discontinued, it is still pretty common to see one on the streets especially in the States. Yet, it is a rare sight to find a 2006 SRT-10 modified by McLaren, with only 120 km on the odometer.

The pictured Dodge Viper SRT-10 is known as ASC Diamondback Viper and was introduced by American Specialty Cars (ASC) at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show. It was officially tuned by the American-based McLaren Performance Technologies, boosting the powerful 8.3-litre V10 engine to output 615 hp while the stock was just 510 hp. There are also various carbon fibre parts found on the hood, roof, hatch, front chin spoiler, rear facia, side rockers, deck spoiler, side venting gills and interior elements. American Specialty Cars was defunct a year after the launch of this special model, making it an one-off example. It is reported that the car cost US$ 750,000 to built and is now available for just a fraction of it.
