Sennheiser is launching its first home entertainment audio product with the promising AMBEO Soundbar. The Germany company claims that the new soundbar offer sound experience that is incredibly realistic, delivering 3D sound that “blurs the line between playback and reality” in the convenience of having just one single all-in-one device.
Jointly developed with Fraunhofer IIS, the AMBEO Soundbar gives listener the spatial ‘as if there’ experience of a 5.1.4 sound system and powerful bass without the need for additional speaker or subwoofer in the set up. Inside the AMBEO Soundbar there are 13 speakers in total: six 4-inch long-throw woofers, five 1-inch tweeters, and two 3.5-inch full range drivers, all packed up nicely in the 49.8 x 4.9 x 6.7 inches soundbar, which takes up a reasonable space front of your TV.
The AMBEO Soundbar is compatible with Dolby Atmos, MPEG-H and DTS:X and is able to recreate stereo and 5.1 content in stunning 3D. With five different presets including movie, music, sports, news and neutral, the soundbar is designed for different content types with precise frequencies and 3D sound characteristics. Connectivity for AMBEO Soundbar is pretty extensive with built in Google Chromecast, Bluetooth and HDMI eARC/CEC, as well as HDMI inputs, an optical audio port, and an AUX input. While a remote is available, users can also adjust acoustic settings via the Sennheiser’s Smart Control App for iOS and Android.
