New York-based design studio Snarkitecture, led by partners Alex Mustonen, Daniel Arsham and Ben Porto, has announced a permanent location for their immersive installation. Snark Park will be opening its door to the public at Hudson Yards in New York on 15 March 2019.
“Our aim has always been to create architecture that performs unexpectedly, to explore the edges of art and architecture. With Snark Park we hope to encourage visitors to reconsider their built environment with childlike wonder,” says Daniel Arsham.
Over the years, Snarkitecture has created numerous design environments, installations and interactive experiences for different communities and brands, but most of them were temporary projects. The team finally has a designated space for doing something more permanent. As with previous projects, guests to Snark Park will be encourage to explore, play and contemplate throughout their visit. Food and beverages, as well as retail experiences designed to go along with each installation including limited editions can also be found inside. Details of the inaugural installation and behind the scenes will posted on Snark Park’s Instagram account, while tickets will go on sale on 31 January 2019.
