A Modernised Concours Winner
Alfa Romeo Nivola Concept by Ugur Sahin Design

Dutch-based designer Ugur Sahin has reimagined the legendary Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale in a modern context. The project was inspired by the designer’s visit to the Pebble Beach Concours last year, which he saw the Best of Show winning 33 Stradale in flesh and was hugely impressed by it.

The original 33 Stradale was designed by Scaglione and only 18 examples were built in 1967. For the project, Sahin translated his modern interpretation of the beautiful silhouette onto the rolling chassis and underpinnings of an Alfa Romeo 4C, a model that was described as a tribute to the 33 Stradale  when it was introduced in 2013. The rear of the car was extended for creating sleek rear fenders that extend all the way back to the edge of the end of the rear.

The name of the project originated from race driver Tazio Nuvolari, who was nicknamed Nivola. The legendary driver took plenty of champions behind the wheel of an Alfa, including the 1933 Le Mans, two Targa Florios, two Mille Miglias and quite a few of Grands Prix.

So far we have only seen the renderings, but Sahin mentions it is a production-ready concept. When there’s a healthy demand it could be turn into limited production with either carbon fibre or aluminium body panels. It’s about time that we all should email Sahin so this concept car can come to life.
