A Grand Return
TVR returns to endurance racing

British sports car maker TVR is getting ready to return to the track under the current ownership. As a very first step, TVR is partnering with Rebellion Racing from Switzerland for the FIA World Endurance Championship 2018-2019 Super Season, after over a decade of absence in motorsport.

The TVR title-sponsored ORECA R-13 prototype made its track debut in the WEC Prologue event at Circuit Paul Ricard on 6 April and will race in the LMP1 category. “When we resurrected the TVR brand, we knew that we wanted to achieve a return to the race track,” Chairman of TVR Les Edgar explained. “Our partnership with Rebellion Racing allows us to achieve that goal, while bringing about valuable operational and technical knowledge, which directly transfers to our road car operation and future racing activities.”

The ORECA R-13 is powered by Gibson race engine. Meanwhile, manufacturing of the production model TVR Griffith will commence end of this year.
