A Futuristic Twist
ZHA Version Of Shell Chair

If you have interests in furniture design, the Shell Chair designed by Danish designer Hans J. Wegner in year 1963 would not be strange to you. Recently, after more than 50 years the design has launched, Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) has made use of Italian marble and carbon fibre to interpret this iconic design in a new angle.

ZHA worked with stone fabricator Generelli and a team of engineering experts named AKT II, naming this project ‘Lapella’, has conducted research in both engineering and architecture aspects, in order to apply modern technology as well as utilising the advantages of certain materials (for instance carbon fibre can help strengthen the structure).
