A Colourful Tribute
Daihatsu "DN Campagno" Concept

Daihatsu has mined its past as inspiration for a concept car it will reveal at the Tokyo Auto Show later this month. Its new machine is the “DN Compagno”, a tribute to the company’s “Compagno” car which debuted back in 1963.

The Japanese automaker designed the original “Compagno” in collaboration with Italian coachbuilder Vignale as Daihatsu’s first passenger car. The DN Compagno concept is a four-coupe that inherits the premiere Compagno’s stylish design approach but prioritises the relaxing comfort of the two front seats, combined with a high-quality interior. Its target buyers are active seniors who like to enjoy individual lifestyles. Daihatsu aims to provide colourful support for these senior’s post-retirement lives. According to the company, the DN Compagno can support either a 1.0L turbocharged engine or a 1.2L hybrid drivetrain.
