Technics has been one of the go-to names for high-end audio equipment players for decades, and is much-loved by professional DJs and true music enthusiasts alike. The brand’s signature turntable series, the SL-1200 series, was born in April 1972, and has graced the DJ deck of countless important venues. To mark the series’ 50th anniversary, Technics has launched limited editions of the SL-1200s in distinctive colours.
For the SL-1200M7L 50 Years Anniversary Limited Edition, seven colour options are offered for the turntable’s high-rigidity cabinet — black, blue, red, white, green, yellow and, beige. Each record player features a gold tonearm along with a special badge inscribed with a serial number, a limited edition Technics sticker, a control vinyl sticker in the same shade as the turntable itself, and a slipmat featuring a gold Technics logo.
The SL-1200M7L uses a coreless direct drive motor to achieve stable rotation, while diverse functions such as torque and brake speed adjustment, pitch control, and reverse play functionality in 33-1/3, 45, and 78 rpm support various play styles. There’s also a stylus illuminator, which comes in handy in dark environments thanks to the high-brightness and long-life white LED.
