A Classic Modernised
DeLorean DMC-12 reimagined

The DeLorean DMC-12 has become a classic that many would love to get hold of since its appearance in Back to the Future. More than three decades from the movie, the trademarks and inventory of the long-defunct automaker is now owned by Stephen Wynne. The newly revived DeLorean Motor Company has talked of producing new cars, but has yet to confirm on the feasibility of moving forward, not to say a schedule. Meanwhile, YouTuber TheSketchMonkey has modernised the DMC as if it would join a film production in 2019.

Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the original DMC is famous for its wedge-shaped design with distinctive flat hood and curving door cut line. TheSketchMonkey has kept the overall style and proportions of the DMC in his design, but has given the car contemporary fascia with horizontal grille and new headlights. The non-linear door cut line is further highlighted with the insertion of large air intake, while the four-bolt wheels have been retained as they are TheSketchMonkey’s favourites.
