80’s Flashback
Braun to Re-release the AW10 & AW50

Braun is re-releasing their very first timepiece, the AW10 together with its successor the AW50 later this year.

First introduced in 1989 and known for its minimal aesthetics, the AW10 was designed by Dieter Rams and Dietrich Lubs, with the aim to create a watch that displayed the time in the most functional way possible. It features a 33.35mm case and is 8mm-thick, with a black protection ring made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic. The typeface and bold yellow hand on the dial certainly make the AW10 a stand-out timepiece.

The AW50 was released two years later and remains the same size as the AW10, but instead of using numerals and minute markers, these have been replaced with lines to indicate the time. It also features a strong red arrow next to the date.

This time round, both watches are being remade without contemporary additions. They will feature a Swiss-made quartz movement and will come affixed to black leather straps, just like the originals. Priced at $290, both watches will be available in August.
