4K Graphics Have Finally Arrived
PlayStation®4 Pro

Introduced in 2013, the original PS4 was expected to support 4K gaming but alas, the technology of the day wasn’t robust enough for a game console. However, those disappointed visual enthusiasts should finally feel satisfied with the announcement of the PlayStation®4 Pro (PS4®Pro) today.

Boasting an upgraded x86-64 AMD “Jaguar” 8-core CPU and a 4.2 TFLOPS AMD Radeon GPU inside, PS4 Pro users with 4K TVs will be able to enjoy every PS4 title in 4K quality resolution (outputted by graphic rendering or up-scaled) and faster or more stable frame rates. Even standard HDTV and future PSVR owners will also benefit from frame rate enhancement, and advanced anti-aliasing thanks to its boosted graphical processing power.

In addition to the capability of 4K playback through 4K streaming video services such as Netflix and YouTube with dedicated console apps, it also supports more realistic and vivid HDR images on HDR-compatible TVs for both videos and games. This HDR support will be available to all PS4 systems including both the newly announced slimmer and lighter PS4 and the original PS4 via a software update.

The PS4 Pro will be available on November 10, 2016, in Hong Kong at a suggested retail price of HK$3,180.
