Oris Chronoris Williams 40th Anniversary Limited Edition

Oris has launched a limited edition Chronoris chronograph to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Williams Formula 1 racing team.

Williams’ first race was the 1977 Spanish Grand Prix with Patrick Nève driving a March 761. Although they did not get a title in that first season, they have since won 16 FIA Formula One World Championship titles, nine for constructors and seven for drivers, in 40 years.

Oris has partnered with Williams Racing since 2003, making this year the 14th year of the collaboration. For this limited edition piece, Oris is paying homage to the original Chronoris, which was also produced in the 1970s. The 40mm oval stainless steel case is oval-shaped, a popular format in the past. Inside it features the Cal. 673 automatic chronograph movement, while the central chronograph seconds hand and minute scale are both in Williams blue as a tribute. The case back has another link to Williams with the team’s logo embossed as well as the limited edition number engraved. The watch comes in a leather pouch with an additional grey NATO strap, a strap changing tool and a cleaning cloth.
